When it comes to helping you to stop snoring, no natural remedy really beats this ancient, yet powerful essential oil. Essential oils are really popular right now… and for good reason. This particular oil can not only reduce the swelling of the lining of the throat, but it can also be used when your allergies start-up to stop them in their tracks and alleviate allergic reactions.
You can find out more about this remedy (and other interesting stop-snoring remedies) and how to use it here.
This is another natural snoring remedy that we are a big fan of. This essential oil is basically an herbal decongestant.
It can help to clear your nasal passages, and can be used by adding a few drops to some boiling water, and then inhaling the steam.
For more information on how exactly to make use of this and other natural remedies like it, check out this post.
Changing Your Sleep Position
Believe it or not, one of the most natural and effective ways to help you stop your snoring problem is to change your sleeping position.
Most researchers agree that sleeping on your back is one of the worst positions for snoring. Sleeping on your side, however, while propped up with pillows so that your upper airway can remain open, may make a huge difference.
Introduction To Stop Snoring Mouthpieces
One of the most effective ways to stop snoring nowadays is to buy a stop snoring mouthpiece, mouth guard, or device… but a lot of people start to get confused when we use some of these terms. Just to make it exactly clear what we mean when we use these terms, here is a brief glossary to help give you the low-down on our common jargon…
Alright, with all of that being said, it is time to talk for a minute about stop snoring mouthpieces in-general.
Definition: What Is A Stop Snoring Mouthpiece?
A stop snoring mouthpiece is basically either a mouth guard or a tongue retention device that operates by creating more room in the upper airway – which helps to cut back on soft-palate vibration, the main cause of snoring. MADs accomplish this by advancing the jaw slightly forward, and tongue retention devices (TSDs) do this by keeping the tongue pulled forward and out of the airway.
Stop snoring mouthpieces are one of our favorite types of stop snoring devices because they just tend to work better. They are efficient, relatively inexpensive, and really provide quality for the price in most cases.
Obviously, it also depends on which one you buy… so that also makes a difference. But that is also why we maintain this page… to help you find the best stop snoring mouthpieces for you.
Common Questions About Stop Snoring Products
Best Anti-Snoring Devices – Our Top 5
The AirSnore Combo is a unique product because it incorporates two different stop snoring remedies into one combined treatment.
There is a mandibular advancement device included in this combo, as well as some drops. The drops are essential-oil based, and the mandibular advancement device is a boil-and-bit-to-fit mouthpiece, so you can be sure that you will get maximum comfort and flexibility out of it.
You can purchase the mouthpiece on its own for $49.95, and you can purchase the drops by themselves for $59.95… but the real value comes from the AirSnore Combo, which costs just $89.95, but provides you with both remedies in one more affordable package.
Here are the pros and cons…
If you are in the market for a dynamic snoring solution and want to tackle your snoring problem from two different directions at once, then the AirSnore Combo offers a pretty incredible bang for your buck.
Good Morning Snore Solution
This is another one of our favorite products on the stop-snoring market, and for good reason. This one is clinically tested, falls under the category of ‘tongue retention device,’ and basically works the same as an MAD, but without being quite as invasive.
The device is designed with a universal fit that allows anyone to use it, and was designed with a ‘safe and simple’ approach to snoring in mind.
You just put it in your mouth, stick your tongue into it, engage the ‘suction’ mechanism that keeps your tongue in place, and bam… your tongue will now stay out of your airway, giving you more room to breathe and cutting back on soft-palate vibration.
Here are the pros and cons…
If you are looking for a dynamic stop-snoring product and want a legitimate option with a quality guarantee, then this is one of the best devices on the market for the money.
VitalSleep is another mandibular advancement device that comes in two different sizes… one for men, and one for women. Their products also come with an amazing 1 year of free replacements, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Their MADs are also fitted with ‘Accu-Adjust Technology,’ which allows you to control the amount of advancement that you get from the device.
This is kind of a rare feature among MADs, so it is quite impressive that VitalSleep has made it part of their product.
VitalSleep is also FDA cleared for the reduction of snoring, and is built with an enlarged opening to allow for increased airflow. It also hinges open, up to 25 degrees, so that you can open your mouth while using it… which is another rarity.
Here are the main pros and cons that we have discovered about the VitalSleep…
If you are on the market for a quality MAD and want some serious adjustment/sizing options, then this is most definitely a product that you should think about looking into.
SnoreMeds is a unique anti-snoring product company in the sense that they carry two different mandibular advancement devices. They carry a smaller one, aimed at working better for the smaller jaws of women… and a larger one, aimed at fitting better for men.
This fact, coupled with the fact that their devices also utilize boil and bite technology to achieve a custom fit, makes SnoreMeds an advanced-sort of product in how well it can be custom-fitted. We loved this about it.
The devices will cost you $46.95 USD to buy one… though you can get a second one at a pretty discounted price (you can buy two for $66.95). Shipping will cost you quite a little bit if you live in Canada… which is a downside for us, but not a deal breaker.
Here are the pros and cons…
If you are looking for a quality Mandibular Advancement Device, and are concerned that a ‘universal’ device just will not fit you as well, then SnoreMeds may be the perfect product for you to try.
SnoreRX is an interesting MAD, for several reasons. It was engineered and is manufactured in California. All of the components are latex free, and are created instead from premium copolymer materials. The device uses boil and bite technology to give you a custom fit, but is also adjustable in 1mm increments so that you can customize the level of advancement it gives you.
It is also cleared by the FDA for the reduction of snoring, which is awesome. It comes with a 30 night risk free guarantee, so if within that time you are not satisfied, you can return it for a full refund (which we love to see). And, it is recommended by several doctors and sleep specialists – which is awesome.
It is priced at $99, which is a bit more than some of the other products on our list – but this truly is a premium-grade device.
Here are the pros and cons that we discovered over the course of our research…
If you truly want a premium-grade MAD and do not mind paying for it, then SnoreRX might be an awesome option for you to look into.
Top 3 Tongue Retaining Devices For Snoring
Good Morning Snore Solution
The Good Morning Snore Solution is our absolute favorite tongue retaining device, for a number of reasons. First of all, it is cleared by the FDA, Health Canada, the EEA, and the ARTG… so you can be sure that it has been tested and verified by a number of sources. It also fits universally… so no matter what size your mouth is, you can use this device.
We also love that this device has a 90 day, 100% satisfaction guarantee. This is like 60 days more than most companies offer with a traditional 30 day return policy… and we love it.
Obviously, this device is a bit more expensive. It is priced at $104, which makes it more than even some MADs on the market. But… it is a proven product with an awesome return policy, and we definitely recommend it if you need a stop snoring device that works.
This interesting take on the tongue retention device was called the ‘#1 Rated Anti-Snoring System of 2017,’ and actually did a lot to give TRDs (also known as TSDs, which stands for ‘Tongue Stabilization Device) a better name in the market this year.
ZenSleep is unique because it is actually a kit that consists of two pieces. There is the ZenStrap chinstrap, which sells for $79.00, and the ZenGuard, which is a tongue retention device, that sells for $99.95.
But… you can actually bundle the two together for a limited time, right now, for $97… which is an amazing deal!
ZenSleep gives you quite a bit of quality for the cost. We also like how they designed the TSD. It is BPA free, and holds the tongue in place using suction-technology. This is not unlike other popular TSDs on the market today, but it is designed with a unique twist. If you are looking for something unique and new to the marketplace, ZenSleep is a very strong contender!
The AVEOtsd is another one of our favorite tongue stabilization devices on the market today, and for good reason. It is clinically proven, simple, non-invasive, and inexpensive. Once again, this is just another example of the type of tongue stabilization device that is popular on the market right now – and functions by holding your tongue in place via suction-technology.
The AVEOtsd can either be purchased as a single unit for $89.00 USD, or in a twin pack for $139.00.
The product does have a two year money-back guarantee on workmanship and materials… but this actually excludes the consumer not liking the device. So if you buy it and it doesn’t work for you, or if you just don’t prefer it, you will not be able to get your money back.
But, at the same time, you won’t have to worry about replacing it very often. This device is guaranteed to work for at least twice as long as most competitors!
So there are upsides and downsides… but we still liked it, and it is certainly a top contender!
Best Stop Snoring Mouth Guards
The AirSnore Combo is certainly one of our favorite stop snoring mouth guard kits… and for good reason. It is simple, uses boil and bite technology to achieve a custom fit, and comes with a 60 day money back guarantee… so even if it doesn’t work for you, you can get your money back and try something else instead.
And if you buy the combo package (which is priced at $89.95 USD), you can also get it shipped with the AirSnore Drops as well, which are essential-oil drops that can help to make the device even more useful for stopping snoring in its tracks.
Plus, as if that wasn’t enough, the device is made using quality components in an FDA approved facility. We have heard a lot of good things about this one, and definitely recommend it for anyone who is interested in using a mandibular advancement device to help end their snoring problem.
The VitalSleep sells for $59.94, and comes with a 60 day Money Back Guarantee. This is another mandibular advancement device that comes in two sizes… one for men, and one for women. It is also fitted using boil and bite technology, and can be further customized using the on-board adjustments to set the amount of advancement that the device provides.
This makes it a much more versatile MAD than most… and for that, it certainly deserves some attention.
The VitalSleep is made in the USA, is constructed of medical grade materials, is BPA and latex free, and is FDA cleared for the reduction of snoring. It was also designed with a low-profile, which makes it much less invasive than some other MADs on the market.
If you’re looking for an MAD with plenty of customization options, and don’t wish for the device to be too bulky or cumbersome, then the VitalSleep is probably a device that you should at least consider.
SnoreMeds is interesting for a few different reasons. For one, they offer two different sizes… one for men, and one for women. They also offer several value packs where you can buy more than one mouthpiece at a time for a discounted price. You can get a single mouth guard from them for $46.95, or you can get a double pack for $66.95… which is an incredible value for the cost!
SnoreMeds is said to have an 85% success rate – and we believe it! It utilizes boil and bite technology to achieve a custom fit, and is manufactured using FDA approved materials. It is also BPA and latex free, and is manufactured using hypoallergenic thermoplastic.
If you are looking for an awesome stop snoring mouthpiece and desire an even better custom fit than usual, then SnoreMeds may be a great option for you!

Snoring Test – Haven’t You Ever Thought About This?
Do you need help understanding which anti-snoring device will work the best for you? Take a quick snoring test to help!
These may be simple tests to perform, but they can tell you a lot about where the snoring problem is coming from. If you want to get an even better perspective, try laying down as you go through each of these tests… as that will give you a much better idea of what is going on in a real-life scenario when you sleep and experience the worst of your snoring challenges.
The Tongue Snoring Test
In some cases, the tongue can do a lot to make our snoring problems worse. In fact, it can even be the root cause of the problem some of the time! The reason for this is pretty simple. In some people, the tongue falls backwards toward the throat during sleep. And when this happens, it narrows the breathing passage… resulting in less room for the air to move through as you try to breathe.
This can increase the odds of you suffering from soft palate vibration.
To determine if your tongue is the problem, perform the following test.
If you find that it is difficult or impossible to make a real snoring sound with your tongue in such a position, then you may possibly be suffering from what some call ‘tongue base snoring.’ In such cases, the best type of a device to buy is a tongue retaining device (TRD), also known as a tongue stabilization device (TSD).
Some examples of this type of product include the Good Morning Snore Solution, and the AVEOtsd.
The downside to suffering from this type of a snoring problem is that there are not as many TSD devices on the market as there are MADs. But the good news is that these devices tend to work very well… so you will have a good shot at solving your snoring problems using this method if you suffer from tongue base snoring.
The Jaw Advancement Test
This test will help you to determine if you are suffering from snoring problems based on how your mouth or jaw rest while you sleep. The basic premise here is that you need a certain amount of room in your airway to keep from experiencing soft-palate vibration, which is the leading cause of snoring.
And if your mouth/jaw are resting in such a way as to deny you the room you need, snoring is pretty much a guarantee. So here is the test.
If you made a snoring sound when your mouth was open and/or closed, but not when you advanced your jawline, then it is very possible that you are going to need an actual mandibular advancement device to help solve the problem.
The Nasal Snoring Test
This type of snoring is not as common.
But sometimes, people snore because of their nose… not because of their tongue or jaw.
Here is a test for determining if you may be suffering from nasal snoring.
If one or both of your nostrils gave you trouble during the test, then you may need to use nasal dilators or nasal strips to help solve the problem. They are easy to use, and are often inexpensive as well.
Some people combine nasal strips with tongue retention devices or mandibular advancement devices as well… which can really help you to double-up on the problem.
Also, be aware that suffering from allergies, a cold, or a stuffy nose can really affect your ability to breathe through your nose on a temporary basis. This may not, however, be a symptom of a chronic snoring problem. If you treat the root cause of a problem like this, the snoring will likely go away as well if that was what was causing the problem.
Is It Possible For Multiple Types Of Snoring To Be Going On At Once?
This is not only possible, but it is also highly likely… especially with tongue snoring and soft palate vibration. If you conduct these tests and find that more than one of them is causing a problem, then you will likely have to treat each cause.
But more than likely, your best bet at treating a multiple-cause case will still be a tongue retention device, aka a tongue stabilization device, or TSD. This type of stop-snoring product will help to prevent soft palate vibration and will keep the tongue out of your airway.
And if you happen to be suffering from nasal snoring as well, all at the same time, then you can also wear nasal dilators or nasal strips too… just to give you an even better edge over the problem.
