What You Need To Know About Zyppah

Zyppah gets its name from spelling ‘Happy Z’ backwards (yes, it is actually kind of clever). It is a bright-colored anti-snoring device that may not work the way you think it does at first! Yes, Zyppah is a bright green color – and as such, it is very unique. You can also get it in a bright pink, and even in a camouflage color as well… which is quite interesting!

We have never seen a product like this on the market before. This is one of the few (maybe really the only…) hybrid-devices on the market. A hybrid device is technically a stop snoring device that uses more than one method to help stop snoring, and that makes the Zyppah incredibly unique.

But is Zyppah’s uniqueness enough to qualify it as a good choice for snorers? Does it really work?

Here is what we found out when writing Zyppah review.

Zyppah Classification & Instructions For Use

By all accounts, Zyppah looks like a mandibular advancement device… and it is. But that is not the only classification it deserves. It actually also functions as a tongue stabilization device! It works by keeping the tongue held forward, and by keeping the lower jaw advanced during sleep.

For this reason, the Zyppah is what we call a ‘hybrid’ device. This means that it has two different classifications in-one. It is both an MAD, and a TSD.

As for instructions for use, they are pretty simple with the Zyppah.

  1. You need to fit it. This is done using boil and bite technology. There are actually some pretty detailed instructions for this process located on the product site (there is actually a link to a YouTube video that shows you exactly how to do it). You can actually fit it up to 3 different times… so even if you don’t get it right the first time, you still have two more chances to try again.
  2. You need to wear it during the day, for about an hour before you go to bed, so that you can get used to how it feels.
  3. You need to wear it to bed, while you sleep… and keep it in for the entire night.
  4. If it makes you uncomfortable, don’t give up (this according to the official product website). It takes time to get used to a product like this.

How Does Zyppah Work?

Zyppah works by employing two different mechanisms to prevent snoring. On one hand, it holds the tongue forward with a part of the device that they call the ‘Snoring Eliminator.’ It also helps to advance the lower jaw while it is being worn.

Both of these mechanisms can help to cut back on soft-palate vibration, which is the root cause of snoring. So on both of these counts, the device is employing relatively proven methods to help solve the snoring dilemma.

But Zyppah is the most unique in the sense that it is using both of these mechanisms at once, where most devices only utilize one.

Because of this, Zyppah actually has a pretty decent chance of helping you.

Zyppah: Clinical Background And FDA Approval

On the official product website, they say that Zyppah is not just FDA cleared, but that it is also made in the USA, and that the company also has an A+ rating with the BBB.

As far as clinical tests go, we read all through the FAQ section of the product website. We also read through all of the landing page content. And though we did see references to the device being FDA cleared, we did not see anything to indicate that the Zyppah has been clinically tested.

We love it when stop snoring devices are clinically tested. And we really love it when this research is posted right on the website for us to look at. So we were a bit disappointed with this product, on both counts.

Can There Be Any Side Effects?

The main side effect that you could expect to experience with this type of device is a sore mouth or tongue. But even this will usually go away with time. You might also experience some drooling, and have a dry mouth in the morning – but these are common side effects that can show up with any MAD, not just the Zyppah.

How Much Does Zyppah Cost?

Zyppah costs $99.95 to buy on the official product website. But… with that being said, we have also learned that, as of the time that this review was written, Zyppah was not actually functioning with a secure checkout! (At least, not as far as we were able to tell). Apparently, SSL is not installed on their website… which is a HUGE oversight, and something that should just not be happening in today’s digital world.

Insecure checkout for Zyppah

So yeah. That is absolutely something to take into account.

What Do We Know About The Company Behind Zyppah?

Screenshot of Zyppah websiteZyppah maintains a toll-free number that you can call if you have any questions or complaints. The number is 1-800-875-3370. The company also has an email address where you can reach them at wecare@Zyppah.com.

We were, however, unable to locate much more information about the company. We did find out that the founder and inventor is a man by the name of Dr. Greenburg.

He said that he invented the Zyppah because there were no real ‘hybrid’ products on the market that took this two-pronged approach to solving the snoring problem, so he invented one… and that is how it started.

The Zyppah comes with a 90 day money back guarantee, which is actually really awesome!
No. We have not found many scam complaints but there were a few. This product may not necessarily work for everyone… but it is certainly not a scam.

What Can Users Expect From Zyppah?

Users can expect to have to get used to the product a little bit before it gets comfortable. Zyppah actually covers this on their product website, which is good. They give you instructions for how to ‘acclimate’ yourself to the device, and on how to avoid getting frustrated with it before you get used to it.

Does Zyppah Require A Doctor’s Involvement Or A Prescription?

No. You can use this product without a doctor’s approval or prescription.

Our Verdict

In the end, we decided that we did like the Zyppah… or at least, we liked the ‘idea’ of the Zyppah. We were pretty concerned, however, that they do not seem to have SSL on their website… so the insecure checkout is a big deal to us.

We love the fact that this is a hybrid device. We also love the fact that it comes with a 90 day money back guarantee. We see it as being perhaps a little bit overpriced… but at the same time, it is also FDA cleared… so that is certainly something to take into account.

Shipping prices to Canada are a bit high, but this is true of quite few different US-based stop snoring products.

Would we recommend this device?

The device, yes. But we hope that this checkout issue does get resolved sometime soon. We really feel like a secure checkout is a huge and important detail… and hope that Zyppah can get on-board with this sometime in the near future.

But as a device, we were pretty impressed with the Zyppah.

The Costs To Get Zyppah Shipped To Canada

To get Zyppah shipped to Canada, you will have to pay international shipping… which will cost you $23.95. This is kind of expensive, for our taste – but it is what it is. So on top of the basically $100 cost of the device, you will also need to pay for this shipping charge if you want to get it shipped to anywhere in Canada.

We did, however, like the fact that Zyppah has a shipping estimator on their site. This helped us to figure out, rather quickly, how much shipping would be… and we liked that.

Compare this appliance to our favorite stop-snoring devices.

The best place to buy Zyppah, if you live in Canada, is from the official Zyppah website.
